Today, we welcome Dr. Sylvia Abbeyquaye, a visionary leader in nursing, long-term care, and health care education. With more than two decades of experience, Dr. Abbeyquaye has worn nearly every hat in the nursing world from a certified nurse assistant and staff nurse to nursing supervisor and director of nursing, giving her a unique lens into the profession of nursing.

Originally from Ghana, she built her academic foundation with a degree in Biochemistry before coming to the United States, where she went on to earning master's in public administration a bachelor's and a Ph.D. in Nursing

Dr. Abbeyquaye is the founder and CEO of NSDxpert Education & Consultancy, an organization dedicated to transforming long-term care by focusing on staff development, retention, and quality care practices. She is also an educator, serving as Adjunct Faculty at institutions including MCPHS University.

Today, we’ll be discussing a recent publication titled, “Examining Fundamental Nursing Textbooks for Inclusivity and Exclusivity Content: A Direct Qualitative Content Analysis.” This important work, co-authored by Professor Mombrun and her colleagues, explores a critical issue in nursing education that directly impacts student success and equity in academia.

Today we are speaking with Dr. Connie Montalbo. She is a prominent figure in healthcare and advocacy with diverse contributions to nursing leadership and community service. Dr. Montalbo is also a nursing executive and the founder and CEO of "End Incivility Today." Through her work, Dr. Montalbo focuses on addressing incivility in the nursing profession, providing strategies to foster respectful work environments, and enhancing patient safety and workplace culture.
