Executive TV & Film Producer and Healthcare Startup Founder Charles Mattocks joins Callie Greenberg and Jamie Silva to talk about why women's health can't get real money behind it. Charles Mattocks has spent close to two decades turning his own health scares into television. He got a pre-diabetes diagnosis in his mid-twenties and, instead of quietly managing it, picked up a camera and built the first-ever Diabetes Reality docuseries, shot in Jamaica, bringing people living with type 2 diabetes together with the experts treating them. He made Reversed and Eight Days. When his father died from cancer and dementia, he turned the lens toward menopause and made a documentary, shot in Costa Rica, that landed him on the Today Show and Dr. Oz. His newest project is Three Women and Me, a women's health show he's building because, in his words, nobody else is doing it right. This episode calls out all the big-time pharma companies and CEO's who say they want to help Women's Health, but their actions don't match up. Charles also talks about his new project, Three Women and Me, and his determination to shake things up in the industry. Charles lays out the actual math: he doesn't need millions; he needs three doctors willing to put in $50,000 each, and he could shoot an entire endometriosis series. He talks about the free Virtual World Summit for Women's Health and Wellness he's hosting on October 1, where Callie and Jamie are speaking on an endometriosis panel, and about what it would actually take for women with real money and real platforms to move
