Stefon Diggs made his Commanders debut with a fiery performance, hauling in five catches for 55 yards and a touchdown — including a jaw-dropping goalpost celebration that cost his team dearly. Despite playing with a new offense and coordinator, he led the team in targets and accounted for a third of their passing yards, delivering strong fantasy value, especially in PPR leagues. His touchdown celebration triggered an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, forcing a 48-yard extra point instead of a two-point conversion — a decision head coach Dan Quinn blamed directly on the penalty. Though Diggs’ enthusiasm showed his heart, Quinn praised his grit while noting he knows better. The Commanders now turn their focus to Dallas, hoping to rebound from their Week 1 loss.

The Commanders’ season opener was a brutal loss to the Eagles, exposing shaky offensive line play that doomed Jayden Daniels and led to multiple three-and-outs. But amid the struggles, rookies showed promise and special teams delivered viral moments of pure grit. Eagles guard Landon Dickerson admitted he was a “complete liability” due to an injury, highlighting how even veterans can falter under physical strain. As the season unfolds, veteran snap counts are solidifying, but emerging stars like Antonio Williams could force a strategic shift — early signs point to a team still finding its footing, but with talent ready to rise.

Frankie Luvu’s groin strain casts doubt on his availability for the Cowboys game—though it’s mild, his play-calling role makes his absence a big deal. Rookie Sonny Styles is ready to step in if needed, while Tyler Owens’ ankle is reportedly fine. Coach Quinn’s injury update this Wednesday will be key.
