His grandfather usurped the throne of England. His father was a war hero. Now, as The Hundred Years’ War against France rages on, gentle King Henry VI presides over a court of schemers.

Having been crowned as a baby, Henry’s uncle, the Duke of Gloucester, holds all the real power in England. However, tensions rise with the arrival of a controversial bride for the king, French noblewoman Margaret of Anjou. Emboldened by her salacious ally, the Earl of Suffolk, Margaret makes it her mission to seize her full authority as Queen by any means necessary. Meanwhile, when Richard Plantagenet, the son of an executed traitor, is made the Duke of York, he vows to avenge his father’s death and reclaim what he views as rightfully his - the throne of England usurped all those years ago.
