Welcome to Episode 130 of the Warrior Words podcast!

When this week's guest, Brenda Ballantine, asked me what day it was while we were recording, she caught me a little off guard. But I think that was the design.

When I said that it was Tuesday, she said it was also "Be Nice to Me" day.

Do we know how to do that? Do we actually know how to be nice to ourselves?

So often, we beat ourselves up when God just wants us to know how much He loves us.

Yes, we make mistakes - sometimes marry the wrong spouse or stay in an abusive situation.

Yes, we sin - sometimes we stray from our marriages or do things that work against them.

Brenda did these things and thought God was mad at her. She beat herself up. On top of the abuse she endured when her former husband beat her up.

But there's a thread throughout her story ~ one of beauty; Our Lord weaved something beautiful out of the sometimes ugly life she was living.

Now Brenda wants to help others mend their broken hearts and learn to be nice to themselves.

But what's the root of all of them?

Are we, perhaps, trying to escape something by not dealing with it? Are we trying to avoid a situation by numbing our minds with one of these many addictions?

Are we trying to escape a relationship with Jesus? Afraid He'll find a crack in the foundation that we need to repair?

Welcome to Episode 126 of the Warrior Words podcast!

This week, I welcomed my first-ever guest back to the podcast.

Jeri Bisbee said something in her original episode - waaay back in Episode 4 - something about a miraculous healing.

I had to know more! So I asked her to come back on the show to share the details, and she was thrilled to let people know what God did for her.

We start with the trauma of her diagnosis, and go through what she did, and didn't do, along the way.

One thing we both made clear in the episode was that there is a place for medicine and medical miracles. This episode is in no way "medical advice." Please, always consult your medical AND Biblical experts before making a decision about how to treat any conditions you may experience.

That being said, Jeri's experience was incredible, and I hope it opens your eyes to the fact that miracles abound; we may just have to look for them!
