In our longest episode to date, we cover the life and murder of Elizabeth Short, the young woman the press would come to call the “Black Dahlia.” Her 1947 murder remains one of Los Angeles’ most infamous unsolved cases, but behind the headlines, theories, and decades of mythmaking was a real person whose story was repeatedly distorted by media sensationalism and public speculation.

We walk through Elizabeth’s life, the confirmed timeline, the discovery of her remains, the investigation that followed, and the way her case became a cultural obsession. We also examine how victim-blaming, rumor, and tabloid coverage shaped the public’s understanding of the case, often at Elizabeth’s expense.

SORRY FOR SOUND ISSUES! I purchased a new mic and struggled to set it up a little bit. Next episode should be normal!

A case made famous by Netflix — and still fiercely debated years later. In this episode, we center Teresa Halbach and walk through the confirmed timeline, the investigation, and the convictions that followed, while separating what’s established from what remains contested in public conversation. A story about a life lost — and how media, courts, and uncertainty can collide in the aftermath.
