The crew remembers X-Men The Animated Series!

We look at what was happening in the 90s when the show first came out, our favorite parts of the show and how we felt about it towards the ending of the series.

The Crew continues our conversation about representation in sci-fi media. This time, we turn our attention to the villains.

What happens when attempts at inclusion fall short? How can well-intentioned representation sometimes reinforce the very stereotypes it’s trying to challenge? We explore how villains from sci-fi have been portrayed, the impact those portrayals can have, and where representation can go wrong—even when the intentions are good.

Join the conversation as we dig into the complicated relationship between representation, identity, and the stories we tell.
