  • 12: Futurism: A Cult of the New
    2026/07/15
Speed, violence, war, and hot new tech! This weeks episode is all about FUTURISM — the artistic movement of the 20th century that foregrounded the tone of technological accelerationism today, all with a splash of misogyny (fun!) Tune in as I talk about poetic cult manifestos and get increasingly more insecure about how I pronounce words! This show was broadcast on OAR 105.4FM Dunedin - oar.org.nz and made thanks to the support of NZ on Air.

  • 11: Bias in the Code
    2026/07/01
Algorithms don’t exist in a vacuum, they code and curate the biases of humanity. This episode is based on Ghanian-American computer scientist and poet Dr. Joy Buolamwini’s concept of the Coded Gaze! This show was broadcast on OAR 105.4FM Dunedin - oar.org.nz and made thanks to the support of NZ on Air.

Welcome to Part II of the Hackers series! (You won’t be surprised that I once again manage to relate this to cyberpunk.) • 9: The Geeks Manifesto (Hackers Pt. I)
    2026/06/03
Phreaks, geeks, and sneaky MIT undergrads. This week, we’re talking about hackers. From campus pranks to phone phreaks to writing manifestos in a jail cell, the hackers have a colorful history. This is part one of badly explained history around hackers, featuring an excerpt of my Computer x Hacker Nerd fanfiction and, finally, you guessed it, a permanent Webpage of the Week segment theme song, composed by my very own kin (shout out to Diego—love ya...I guess). This show was broadcast on OAR 105.4FM Dunedin - oar.org.nz and made thanks to the support of NZ on Air.

  • 8: High Tech, Low Life
    2026/05/20
Neon signage, cybernetic augmentations, multi-colour holograms, clusters of projected billboards, dingy motels, low lives, sinister corporations, hustling mercs...and...oriental ‘othering’ that can be historicised in the post-war anxieties circling the U.S. economy in the 1980’s??? You guessed it — this weeks episode is all about the Cyberpunk genre and its prolific authors and adaptations, as well as the historical foregrounding of its trope-y narratives and visuals. The episode features: my poor excuse of sci-fi prose, a lesson on Techno-Orientalism (because I’m doing a presentation on it Friday afternoon), a special Webpage of the Week intro, and my fatigue-induced rambling (complaining) at the end that may or may not be cut by Arina since I low-key went overtime. This show was broadcast on OAR 105.4FM Dunedin - oar.org.nz and made thanks to the support of NZ on Air.

  • 7: 1D Fanfic & Wattpad Bad Boys (Fandom II)
    2026/05/06
Y/N puts her hair up into a messy bun and then turned on her favourite podcast, Virtuality. The hosts voice is so warm and soothing, like a fresh cup of tea in winter. Okay, I'll stop now. This episode is, you guessed it, all about fanfiction online. It features: a brief history of fandom archive sites, One Direction Y/N fanfic, Hamilton the Musical, my obsession with Bad Boy stories on Wattpad at 12 years of age, and the worst intro I've written for this podcast to date. This show was broadcast on OAR 105.4FM Dunedin - oar.org.nz and made thanks to the support of NZ on Air.

To stan, or not to stan. This short episode is the intro to a two-parter about fandom culture online. We talk about GeoCities, the 90s nostalgia epidemic, and my credentials as a fangirl. This show was broadcast on OAR 105.4FM Dunedin - oar.org.nz and made thanks to the support of NZ on Air.

  • 5: I Could Have Been An Influencer
    2026/04/09
Do you know what your kid is doing online? Because I was trying to become a social media star from the ages of 10 to 11. This episode features: insight into my short-lived social media career, Jacob Sartorius, R.I.P Vine, The Ocean Show, a 10-minute tangent about the fresher flu, and a deliriously rushed conclusion to the episode because I started to run out of time and realized I was very dehydrated, to be honest with you. This show was broadcast on OAR 105.4FM Dunedin - oar.org.nz and made thanks to the support of NZ on Air.
