First, in a bit of an update, I share my review of Guadalajaran artist and DJ Benjamin Koll's release of "Dance Love Dream" https://bit.ly/4627Hys which he was hard at work completing when I met with him this summer. My Title Track for this one, "Everybody Knows," I lift from a spirited and delightful conversation with Shreveport, La., teacher John Allen, friend from my theater days in Minot and friend of the pod, appearing in ep. 6 to chat with me about Ed Sheeran. This time we explore the work of Leonard Cohen through the lens of "Hallelujah" (referenced at SNL cold open https://youtu.be/BG-_ZDrypec?si=nz0uTkbquwKRVzLq ), as well as "Closing Time," "Anthem," "The Future," "First We Take Manhattan," "Who By Fire," "Tower of Song" and closing with "Everybody Knows."

Quick show so far, as of this episode, I've not chatted about all of them, but I've covered nearly 2,400 songs by some 350 artists, which is astonishing to me as I've still got more than half of the alphabet to cover -- looking forward to it!

My Title Track "Osito" is from the past three years or so I've been listening to Spanish artist by way most recently of Mexico, Benjamin Koll (channel: https://bit.ly/4627Hys) a creative force going back to Madrid in the '90s. I have five of his LPs in my collection. The half-year delay in this episode was a scheduling issue; if I could wait til July, he'd be DJ'ing an event eight hours up the road from me and ... I just so craved this opportunity to meet with him in person I erred on the side of delaying this production so as to make that happen. In all reality [looks back at the last seven episodes of big sister production, VideoFuzzy] I had plenty to do in the meantime.
