It is easy to forget how valuable we are.

The world constantly tells us that our worth comes from what we own, how successful we are, how we look, what position we hold, or how we compare to someone else. We can always find someone with a bigger house, newer car, better career, more money, or greater accomplishments.

But God reminds us that our value was established long before we possessed any of those things. We are valuable because God created us in His image.

The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life can convince us that we need more to finally be satisfied. But there will always be something else to desire. Contentment begins when we stop measuring our lives by what we don't have and start thanking God for what He has already given us.

We also need to remember that our struggle isn't merely physical. There is a spiritual battle taking place. Ephesians 6 reminds us that our fight is not ultimately against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces.

That means we cannot win every battle through arguments, anger, control, or trying harder. Some battles must be fought on our knees.

When someone we love is making wrong decisions, don't just become frustrated with them—pray for them. When your family is under pressure, pray. When your mind is being attacked by fear, temptation, or discouragement, pray. When you don't know what else to do, pray.

Your prayers may reach places your words never can.

God has not called us to simply survive this life. He has called us to become strong in Him, stand against the enemy, and be useful in His kingdom. Your greatest legacy isn't what you accumulate; it is the eternal impact your life has on others.

So today, remember three things:

- You have value because God made you.

- You have a battle because the enemy wants to distract you.

- You have a weapon because God has given you prayer.

Stand firm. Stay in God's Word. Remain grateful. And keep praying.

Our attitudes reveal what is happening within our hearts. We can say that we love God, but our interactions with people often reveal whether we are allowing the Holy Spirit to shape us.

The fruit of the Spirit is more than a list of qualities we should try harder to demonstrate. It is evidence of God's work within us. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are attitudes God wants to develop in our everyday lives.

But these qualities can be difficult to demonstrate when we're tired, frustrated, offended, or under pressure. That's why we cannot depend solely on our own strength. We have to surrender ourselves to God and allow Him to work on the areas of our lives that still need to grow.

Sometimes God uses difficult circumstances to develop us. Trials aren't always an indication that God is against us. Sometimes they are part of the process through which He strengthens our character.

This message also reminds us that we cannot effectively pour into others when we are spiritually running on empty. We need time with God to be refreshed, renewed, and strengthened. When we allow God to fill us, we are better equipped to love, serve, listen, forgive, and encourage others.

Today, ask yourself: What attitude is God asking me to surrender to Him? Maybe it's impatience. Maybe it's frustration, fear, offense, or a lack of self-control. Whatever it is, don't simply try to hide it. Bring it to God and allow Him to work on you.

Every believer has a battle to fight. Sometimes the battle is with our circumstances, but often the greatest battle is happening inside of us.

We wrestle with pride, anger, lust, selfishness, temptation, and desires that compete with God's will. This sermon reminds us that becoming a Christian doesn't mean the struggle immediately disappears. Instead, God begins taking territory in our lives, teaching us to surrender areas that we once controlled.

The enemy understands our weaknesses. He looks for places we haven't surrendered and uses them to create division, temptation, and destruction. That's why we can't afford to ignore the areas where we struggle.

But here's the good news: we don't have to fight in our own strength.

God gives us His Spirit, His Word, His strength, and His armor. When temptation comes, we can choose obedience. When anger rises, we can choose self-control. When pride tells us we don't need God, we can humble ourselves and surrender.

The goal isn't simply to survive the battle. The goal is to stand.

Ask Yourself

- What area of my life am I still trying to control instead of surrendering to God?

- What weakness or temptation does the enemy repeatedly use against me?

- Am I relying on my own strength or God's strength?

- Is there an area of my life that could be damaging my relationships or testimony?

None of us enjoys struggling. We often pray for God to remove the struggle as quickly as possible. But sometimes God uses our struggles to reveal something deeper: our need for Him and our need for one another.

Jacob wrestled with God until he reached a place where he realized he could not move forward in his own strength. His struggle brought him to surrender. Sometimes our greatest spiritual breakthrough begins when we finally admit, “God, I can't do this without You.”

But struggling well doesn't mean struggling alone.

God designed us for community. There are moments when we need someone who will pray with us, encourage us, correct us, tell us the truth in love, and help us get back on our feet. Authentic Christian fellowship isn't about pretending that everything is okay. It's about having people close enough to know when we're hurting and courageous enough to walk with us through it.

We also have to confront the struggles within ourselves—pride, selfishness, covetousness, lust, and the desire to control our own lives. Before we can effectively fight spiritual battles around us, we must allow God to deal with the battles within us.

The good news is that struggling doesn't mean you're failing. Sometimes the struggle is evidence that God is still working on you.

Many people assume that once they become followers of Christ, the struggle with temptation and sin should disappear. The reality is that salvation doesn't eliminate the battle—it changes how we fight it. Like Jacob wrestling with God, every believer encounters moments where they must choose between surrendering to the flesh or trusting God's transforming power.

The good news is that struggling doesn't mean you've failed. In fact, the struggle often reveals that God is actively working in your life. The Holy Spirit exposes areas that need healing, freedom, and growth, inviting you to become more like Christ. Rather than hiding your weaknesses or pretending everything is fine, God calls you to bring your struggles into the light, where His grace can bring lasting change.

Victory isn't found in your own strength but through daily dependence on God's Word, prayer, and the Holy Spirit. As you continue to surrender your desires to Him, He will strengthen you to overcome and mature in your faith. God never wastes a struggle when it is surrendered to Him.

When we think of struggle, we often assume something is wrong. Yet Jacob's encounter with God reminds us that some struggles are necessary because they lead to transformation.

Jacob spent much of his life depending on his own wisdom and manipulation. But when he found himself alone with God, everything changed. Through the night, he wrestled—not simply in a physical battle, but in a spiritual surrender. By morning, Jacob was no longer the same man. God gave him a new name, Israel, because his identity had been transformed.

The message reminds us that the greatest struggle is often between our will and God's will. Many people want God's blessings without surrendering control, but true repentance begins when we stop resisting God and acknowledge that His ways are higher than our own. God isn't looking to make us slightly better people—He wants to make us new.

Like Jacob, we may walk away from our encounter with God marked by the experience, but those marks become reminders of His grace and faithfulness. Every struggle surrendered to God becomes an opportunity for Him to shape our character and draw us closer to Him.

Don't be discouraged by the battles you're facing today. Instead, ask yourself whether God is inviting you to stop fighting Him and start trusting Him. The breakthrough often comes not when we overcome God, but when we surrender to Him.

Our world often tells us that our identity is found in our career, accomplishments, appearance, or the opinions of others. But God reveals something far deeper: our true identity is found in Him. Before we can live out our purpose, we must first understand who we are in Christ.

The condition of our heart shapes every area of our lives. Our thoughts influence our actions, our beliefs affect our decisions, and what we continually allow into our hearts eventually becomes the direction of our lives. That’s why Scripture commands us to guard our hearts carefully.

The enemy’s strategy is to intimidate, discourage, and distract us from God’s purpose. But as children of God, we don’t have to live in fear. The Holy Spirit empowers us to stand confidently, knowing that “greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

As we fill our minds with God’s truth, our hearts begin to reflect His character. Instead of allowing fear, bitterness, or worldly influences to shape us, we can choose to meditate on whatever is true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). This daily practice transforms us from the inside out and strengthens our identity in Christ.

It's possible to be surrounded by church activities and still leave Jesus standing outside the door. In Revelation 3:20, Jesus isn't speaking to unbelievers—He's speaking to His own church. His invitation isn't simply to attend a service, but to enjoy a close, personal relationship with Him.

The church in Laodicea believed they were rich and had everything they needed, but Jesus revealed their true spiritual condition. They had become comfortable, self-sufficient, and spiritually lukewarm. Their greatest need wasn't more possessions or greater success—it was more of Christ.

The same challenge applies to us today. It's easy to become distracted by careers, finances, schedules, and even ministry responsibilities while neglecting the One who gives life to it all. Jesus desires more than our attendance; He desires our hearts. He wants a seat at the table of our daily lives.

When we invite Christ into every area of our lives, our priorities begin to change. We discover that true wealth isn't found in what we own but in knowing Him. We also begin to see the church as more than a building—it becomes a community where believers encourage, pray for, and strengthen one another throughout the week.

Today, take time to open the door. Slow down, listen for His voice, and welcome Him into your conversations, decisions, and relationships. The greatest blessing isn't what Jesus can give you—it's His presence with you.
