On this episode, Mike shares that in being a veteran, the military has supplied him with skillsets, for example, if Mike wanted to be the manager of Popeyes, he could do it. Mike expresses that it is empowering to help others and for veterans to quit using the label of veteran to hold themselves back, use the veteran label to create yourself new ones, as in CEO. The negatives that are occurring amongst veterans shouldn’t be the only outlook, the outlook needs to highlight the positive that veterans are doing as well.
