  • Embodiment, Somatics & Coming Home to Yourself with Jess Wrightson
    2025/09/09

In this week's episode, I sat down with Jess Wrightson to speak about Embodiment & living an Embodied Life. Jess is the founder of Surskin and Henosis & Co, who I consider a true matriarch in the wellness world. If you've ever felt stuck despite doing all the mindset work, find yourself living entirely in your head, or sense there's a deeper level of connection missing from your life, this conversation will shift something for you.

Jess has been making an impact with her work for over 20 years through her unique approach to healing that goes beyond traditional beauty treatments into the realm of true embodiment and energetic healing. We discuss the gap between intellectual awareness and body wisdom, why so many of us feel more disconnected than ever despite having access to endless resources, and practical ways to reconnect with the felt sense of who we are.

    In this conversation, we explore:

    • What embodiment is
    • The disconnect a lot of us are feeling
    • Practical ways to reconnect with your body, from breathwork that you can do in two minutes to somatic movement that doesn't require any training or certification.
    • How practices like touch, movement, and sound can help us process and release what we've been carrying.

Whether you're intellectually aware of your patterns but still stuck in the same cycles, craving a deeper connection to your intuition and body wisdom, or looking for practical tools to move beyond mental understanding into real embodied transformation, this episode offers a pathway back to yourself that doesn't require expensive certifications or complex practices.

This conversation was so expansive that I've broken it into two parts. This episode focuses on embodiment as individuals, and part two explores how to bring this embodied approach into your business and work.

  • The Confidence to Be Different: Evolving as a Creative Entrepreneur Despite What Others Say with Antoinette Raphael
    2025/04/16

What does it take to stand out and stay true to your vision when others doubt your path?

Have you ever felt like your creative ideas were too different to succeed? In today's world where sameness often feels safer than standing out, finding the confidence to follow your unique vision can feel incredibly challenging. Yet the most memorable businesses are built by those who dare to be different, even when faced with skepticism.

I’m excited to be welcoming back Antionette Raphael, a Perth creative and founder of RAW WAR, a high-end streetwear label designed and produced right here in Perth. If you've been following me for a while, you might remember Antionette from my blog back in 2018. Since then, she's showcased at London Fashion Week, was featured in British vogue and has continued to evolve her brand while staying true to her distinctive vision, even when faced with skepticism about her unconventional approach.

I've watched her journey unfold and am genuinely inspired by how she's maintained the confidence to be different in an industry that often rewards conformity.

In this conversation, you'll learn practical strategies for developing the confidence to pursue your unique creative vision, even when others doubt your path. Antionette shares how she's built a successful brand by embracing her differences rather than conforming to industry expectations, insights that will help you transform your own creative entrepreneurship journey.

    In this conversation, we explore:

    • Finding the Confidence to Express Your Difference:Practical strategies to develop the courage to pursue your unique vision when everyone else says you should conform
    • Transforming Criticism into Motivation: Antionette shares how she used others' doubts about her high-end streetwear concept as fuel for her determination, and strategies you can apply when facing pushback on your creative vision
    • Creating Authentic Brand Identity Through Personal Evolution: How Antionette's creative process reflects her personal journey, and why allowing your business to evolve alongside your authentic self creates deeper connection with your audience
    • Setting Boundaries as a Different Kind of Entrepreneur: The specific ways Antionette protects her creative energy by saying "no" to conventional expectations, and how establishing your own rules can preserve your unique approach
    • Building Sustainable Success on Your Own Terms: Why Antionette's patient, distinctive approach to fashion entrepreneurship has created lasting impact, and how embracing your differences can become your greatest business advantage

If you're navigating the challenges of building a business that breaks the mold, this conversation is for you. Antionette's journey shows what's possible when you have the confidence to be different and stay true to your vision despite skepticism. Her evolution from a young designer who was told "it won't work" to a respected creative entrepreneur offers both inspiration and practical guidance for anyone ready to embrace their unique path.

This is exactly the kind of authentic, sustainable approach to business I believe in.
