Discover the thought-provoking journey of Utopia, originally titled A Frutefull Pleasaunt, and Wittie Worke of the Beste State of Publique Weale. Written by Sir Thomas More and translated into English by Raphe Robynson, this classic work introduces us to the traveler Raphael Hythloday in Antwerp. The first book sets the stage, while the second immerses us in the fascinating island of Utopia, where customs, laws, religion, and economy intertwine. Hythloday presents an ideal society devoid of money, where communal property eliminates poverty, hunger, and fear, leading to a remarkable reduction in crime. Yet, More himself remains skeptical of some of Hythlodays assertions. This recording is based on the 1556 Robinson translation and features a foreword by the renowned William Morris. Join us as we explore this timeless critique of society and the pursuit of an ideal world.Copyright International Ambient Sounds 政治・政府 政治学 社会科学 科学
