  • I Still Believe in God(s) - My Journey from Organized Religion to Spirtuality
    2026/10/14

I was born Baptist. Church on the occasional Sunday, vacation Bible school every summer, and a faith that was handed to me before I was old enough to question it. For a long time I did not question it. It was just the water I swam in.

Then I started asking questions nobody around me seemed comfortable answering. And the more I asked, the more I realized that what I had been given was not faith. It was a framework. And the framework had cracks.

This episode is about what happened when I stopped performing religion and started actually thinking about what I believe. It is about the difference between religion and spirituality, and why that difference matters more than most people admit. It is about the God(s) or rather possibility of God(s) I believe in, just not the one I was introduced to in church.

Because here is where I landed: I do not believe God is a being sitting somewhere beyond the clouds deciding who gets blessed and who gets punished. I believe God and the devil are states of consciousness. Conditions we move between. Ways of being that every human being is capable of, and that every human being cycles through.

The most divine version of yourself. The most destructive version of yourself. Both live inside you. Both are real. And the spiritual work, the actual work, is learning to recognize which one is driving.

And what if heaven and hell aren't places we go after death? What if they're environments we create, experience, and sometimes endure here on Earth? Even when we can't immediately escape the hell someone else has created for us, can we find ways to create pockets of heaven along the way?

This is not an attack on anyone's faith. If your religion brings you genuine peace, purpose, and connection, I respect that completely. This is simply my story. My questions. My journey. And where I ended up.

  • Square Brain, Round Office - Neurodivergence in The Workplace
    2026/10/14

Have you ever felt like you were working twice as hard just to meet expectations that seem to come naturally to everyone else? Have you been told you're too much, too quiet, too distracted, too direct, or simply not doing things the “right” way? What if the problem isn't you, but the environment you're expected to fit into?

In this episode of Unscripted with H.O. Dox, he's sharing his own personal experience and journey as someone living with ADHD and why it wasn't prominent in his professional career until later in life. We're also exploring neurodivergence in the workplace and what happens when people whose brains work differently are expected to thrive in systems designed around a narrow definition of “normal.”

From ADHD and autism to other forms of neurodivergence, people experience the world, process information, communicate, focus, and solve problems in different ways. Yet many workplaces continue to measure productivity, professionalism, and competence against a standardized set of expectations that doesn't account for those differences.

We'll unpack the challenges that can come with navigating workplace culture, managing executive functioning, dealing with sensory overload, interpreting unspoken social rules, and trying to keep up with expectations that may not align with how your brain operates. We'll also explore masking, the pressure to hide or suppress parts of yourself to appear more acceptable and the emotional and mental energy it can take to maintain that performance day after day.

But this conversation isn't just about the challenges. It's about recognizing the strengths that can come with thinking differently. These strengths don't look the same for everyone, and neurodivergence isn't a superpower in every situation. People deserve to have their challenges acknowledged without having their capabilities underestimated.

We'll also question the responsibility placed on neurodivergent individuals to adapt while workplaces are rarely expected to examine their own practices. What would happen if employers focused less on whether someone fits a traditional mold and more on whether they have the tools, support, and environment they need to succeed? What if flexibility, clear communication, reasonable accommodations, and different approaches to productivity were treated as ways to help people thrive rather than special treatment?

Whether you're neurodivergent, work alongside someone who is, manage a team, or simply want to understand people better, this episode invites you to reconsider what professionalism, productivity, and success really mean.

Because not everyone thinks in straight lines, follows the same path, or operates best within the same structure. And that's not necessarily a problem to solve.

Maybe the square brain was never the problem. Maybe it's time we reexamined the round office.

Let's make room for different minds, different needs, and different ways of succeeding without requiring people to hide who they are to belong.
