This episode is a lecture as part of a collaboration with WSDC Philippines, the national debate team! The WSDCPH Workshop Series are a lecture series to help fundraise for the team's events for the 2027 season. Lecture 1 was open to all to join.
Lecture 1 - Understanding the WSDC Format: This lecture will introduce the philosophy behind the World Schools debate format and its topics, the basic rules and core components (Style, Content, Strategy) scored, as well as how these components shift the approach to debating and judging. This lecture will also discuss things like Ladder Approach and Inductive Approach to Scoring, Upward/Downward Pressure in crediting material, etc.)
