Dovey Roundtree is quite possibly the least told story of our podcast so far, but her legacy has impacted anyone who has ever ridden public transportation in the United States.

It's almost unfathomable to believe that a girl born in her circumstances could go on to fight Jim Crow in the military and in the U.S. legal system with some of the most important cases in our country's history.

A Spelmanite, Howard Law grad, a teacher, an Army officer, an attorney and an A.M.E. ordained minister - Dovey Roundtree's career is almost too expansive to be believed.

Bayard Rustin was arrested for sitting in the White section of a public bus in 1941, 14 years before the Birmingham Bus Boycott. He orchestrated the most famous march in human history, the March on Washington. He mentored Rev.
