With apologies to our southern hemisphere listeners, it's been really hot here in eastern Tennessee - so hot, in fact, that neither Wayne nor Kevin have felt very much like getting out with a camera. So, what does a dedicated photographer do when it's too hot to shoot? Lot's of things, actually, and the Shutter Brothers happily share some things to do when you can't get out.

Meanwhile, Wayne had been busy making more prints for his Random Works of Art project, and pretty soon some lucky people will have the chance to own a genuine Wayne Setser print.

Shutter Brothers Wayne and Kevin are back with some great listener email about mixing your own photo chemistry, wide angle lenses for large format cameras, and a topic close to Wayne's heart: spreading kindness through art. Wayne ielplains how he is rebooting his Random Acts of Art project by making small prints, matting them, and leaving them in random places for people to find.

The Shutter Brothers are back, and Kevin has a new light meter to discuss - the KEKS M Light Meter for Leica M cameras. The meter is based on the hansome and functional Leica MR Meter (which Kevin also owns), but the electronics and display are greatly updated to make a good user experience. Kevin's thoughts here are first impressions - no pictures yet - so stay tuned for a full review.

Meanwhile, the Shutter Bros' interest in 6x6 cameras continues as Kevin compares his recent experience with a Rolleiflex 2.8D with his own Rolleicord Va. The Rolleiflex has things going for it for certain, but Kevin's recent experiences with his Rolleicord havr been very successful. So what happens when a Hasselblad 500 C/M gets added to the mix?

In this episode, Wayne and Kevin work through the subject of filters for film phtography. In the old days , filters were the next gear the camera store sales person tried to sell you after a camera and lenses. But are the that important? How often does Wayne (who has been shooting large format photography for over four decades) put a filter in front of his lens? You will be surprised by his answer. Nevertheless, filters have their place, and the right filter at the right time and place can make or break a picture (just ask Ansel Adams).

Next, Kevin shares a tale of woe regarding a few rolls of Kentmere 400 that he recently shot and deveoped with the same workflow he's followed for years with other films. It seems that reading and following the instructions for each brand of film is much more important than Kevin had thought.
