Here’s the UK bee-weather picture for the next four days. I’ll start with the next two days, then look at days three and four, covering inspection, forage and swarm weather in each period.

Inspection. Inspection looks workable across much of the UK. Inspection is workable initially in south-west and south-east England but becomes more marginal on Monday as wind and cool conditions become more limiting.

Forage. Nectar collection improves to reduced in Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland from the south-west to the Highlands by Monday. Nectar collection falls to low in south-west England by Monday. Recent dry conditions are reducing nectar reward across much of the UK. Wind is limiting access to exposed flowers in south-west England, and central and north-east Scotland. Pollen remains more available than nectar across much of the UK.

Swarm. Swarm-weather opportunity is mixed in north-west and north-east England, East Anglia, and south-west, central and north-east Scotland. Swarm-weather opportunity changes from mixed to very high in Northern Ireland and the Highlands by Monday. Swarm-weather opportunity changes from very high to high in the Midlands and Wales by Monday. Swarm-weather opportunity changes from very high to mixed in south-west England by Monday. Swarm-weather opportunity changes from very high to usable in south-east England by Monday. Weather suitability is the opportunity, not the trigger.

Inspection. Inspection is more marginal in north-east England, East Anglia, the Midlands, Wales, and central Scotland. Wind is the main restriction in north-east England and central Scotland. Inspection is workable initially in north-west England, Northern Ireland, and south-west Scotland and the Highlands but becomes more marginal on Wednesday as showers become more limiting. Inspection looks workable in south-west and south-east England. Inspection starts more marginal in north-east Scotland but opens up on Wednesday as wind and showers ease.

Swarm-weather opportunity changes from very high to mixed in south-west England, and south-west Scotland and the Highlands by Wednesday. Swarm-weather remains mixed in south-east England. Swarm-weather remains mixed in central Scotland. Swarm-weather opportunity changes from very high to high in north-east Scotland by Wednesday.
