概要

When she finally asks Mr. Pendrake about it, he tells her he carved it from a pumpkin he grew in his own garden, from seed he found in a desiccated gourd at a roadside stand off Route 22. She dreams of that face. Then one night, the pumpkin is gone. And Mr. Pendrake's porch light is off. And never comes back on.
