We grew up believing love gets earned. Grades, chores, being good enough. So when someone tells you this one's free - no strings, no ledger, no catching up required - your gut reaction probably isn't relief. It's suspicion.
This week, Jim and Larry sit with the idea that gets said in church more than it actually gets believed: grace alone. Not grace plus effort. Not a reward for behaving. Just grace.
We also don't dodge the obvious pushback: if it's really free, doesn't that just mean you can do whatever you want? We answer that one honestly, not tidily.
And we land somewhere we think is worth sitting with; grace isn't a hack. It's not a technique. It's merely a different foundation to slip and fall on. One that doesn't require you to make it right up before you're welcomed back.
