  • New Apartment: Remember The Very First Time....
    2026/07/15

Remember the smell of your first apartment?

The first time you turned the key to your own place… the silence… the empty rooms… and somehow, they felt full of possibility.

Remember your first new car? Your first kiss? The first person you fell in love with? The first opportunity that made you believe life was finally changing?

Somewhere along the way, the excitement faded.

    The apartment became “too small.”

    The car became “just transportation.”

    The relationship became “complicated.”

    The dream became “work.”

But what if the problem isn’t that those things changed…

What if we’ve simply forgotten how we first saw them?

In this episode of Truth Unfolded, we explore why our first experiences carry so much wonder, why we slowly lose that perspective, and how remembering the beginning can change the way we see the present.

    Sometimes gratitude isn’t created.

    Sometimes it’s recovered.

    Today’s frustration shouldn’t erase yesterday’s answered prayer.

    Yeah… I know I’ve been gone for a while.

    I’m sorry.

Hopefully this episode makes up for the lost time.

🎙️ Theme Song: “Never Enough” by Puff Rozay (I was given the approval by her herself to use the song. 😂)

  • It's Not Usual: The Non-Standard Black Experience: The Carlton Banks Effect
    2022/07/29

"Blackness remains the coat you can't take off." - Clint Smith

When it comes to black culture, we focus on the differences between us so much we fail to realize how much we truly have in common. Here I discuss the differences between certain aspects of black culture and how comparison of it can be the thief of the indescribable joy of being black. Although "The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air" is fictitious, the issues shown in these episodes are very real. One of the main characters, Carlton Banks, goes through a journey throughout the show maturing and learning about how blackness benefits him.. and how it could sometimes be to his detriment. Although he has the best character development in my opinion, he is often associated with negative stereotypes when it comes to being "Black enough" or "Good enough" as a person. Here I go into depth and give you an up close and personal view of why I believe many in our culture hate Carlton.. and why I respect and can relate to him so very much.
