To follow Christ and carry your cross is to be focused on God’s kingdom, which is not of this world. Job was able to do that. He was stripped of his financial well being and didn’t curse God. Despite Satan’s temptation to do so. Despite his wife telling him to do so. His family was killed and he was afflicted with severe physical disease, and yet he remained humble in his faith. Despite his friends blaming him. This is the example we are to take, one of many. "'Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.'" Job 1:21 "All that is come upon me comes; all that is lost to me comes; every thing the Lord has; I am that which the Lord has." Job 2:10 The god of this world and age is trying to lure as many people as possible from faith in their Creator, who became known to us through Jesus Christ. “And with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 Agendas being pushed today all have one goal, establish an anti-christ kingdom on earth to deceive people into worshipping the created, rather than the Creator. The countless distractions and hardships we face are meant to bewilder us to the point of submission, to reject the love of Christ. Don’t let Satan fool you. God is good and Jesus died for all of us. One day all of the iniquity in this world that seems to go unpunished will have its reckoning. All suffering for the sake of Christ is worthwhile and will bear fruit if we don’t give in.
