    Jesus warned: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth… for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:19-21) As we see, those who compromise and try to please people, end up walking away from God. God does not want people pleasers, but those who will stand on the truth and authority of His Word, regardless of the personal cost and sacrifice of worldly enjoyment. That’s where true inner peace provide refuge, knowing that the ultimate reward will be after this life passes away, along with every thing we put value in that isn’t eternal. 1 John 2:15-17: "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever."     We are living in wicked times. A teenage girl and her boyfriend go on a deadly hunt through their own city. Where does that spirit of evil come from? “Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:4 Due to this blindness, the future as described in the below scriptures is actually happening right now… “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rise against their parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by everyone because of My name, but the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.” Matthew 10:21-22 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rise against their parents and have them put to death.” Mark 13:12 “You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you will be put to death.” Luke 21:16 “There is a generation of those who curse their fathers and do not bless their mothers. / There is a generation of those who are pure in their own eyes and yet unwashed of their filth. / There is a generation—how haughty are their eyes and pretentious are their glances…” Proverbs 30:11-14 “They will put you out of the synagogues.
