In this episode, Truth Beyond looks at the theory of a manufactured alien invasion. Not whether aliens exist — whether someone could fake an attack long enough to change what people will accept.

The Northwoods papers exist. The Hawaii alert happened. Convincing fake video is now easy to make. That doesn’t prove anyone is staging an invasion. It does raise a harder question: how much authority would you hand over if you believed your family was in danger, and what happens if those powers stay after the threat disappears?

We’re not here to tell you the invasion is coming. We’re here to ask what the story is actually claiming — and what would count as evidence.

Reptilians: The Face Beneath the Face. Truth Beyond looks at one of the strangest ideas in modern conspiracy culture — humanoid reptiles living among us, and the claim that they secretly run the world.

Josh and Frank start with the picture, not the politics. If one of these creatures were standing in front of you, what would you actually be looking at? Scales, eyes, a face that almost passes until it doesn’t. Then they separate two ideas people keep gluing together: finding an unknown species does not mean that species is in charge of Earth.

We also discuss ancient imagery and how people look back to these images as proof of something sinister going on.

From there, David Icke. The books, the bloodline claims, the idea that presidents, royals, and bankers are reptiles wearing human skin. What people believe, where it came from, and why a story this wild still gets repeated.

We’re not here to prove shapeshifters are in the room. We’re here to ask what the claim is actually saying — and what would count as evidence.

If you were inside a perfect simulation, how would you know?

Truth Beyond is not here to prove the universe is a computer. There is no accepted scientific evidence that it is. Josh and Frank start there, then walk the idea anyway: Nick Bostrom’s 2003 argument, whether someone could pause the whole thing without us noticing, why “glitches in the Matrix” make better stories than evidence, and the part simulation talk usually skips — we still don’t know if consciousness can be simulated at all.

What if we’re not the experiment? What if whoever built this is waiting for something that hasn’t happened yet? And if the stack of simulations goes down forever, you still have the oldest question left: why does anything exist?

Then the personal one. If scientists proved it tomorrow, what actually changes about your life?

Strange doesn’t mean simulated. We’re asking whether we could ever tell the difference.

Last week was the funeral home in Southington. This week is the woods.

Dudleytown isn’t a town. It’s what’s left of a small farming settlement in Cornwall, Connecticut — Dark Entry Forest, cellar holes, stone walls, and a reputation that got louder after the people left. Insanity. A bloodline curse from England. Children who walked into the trees and didn’t come back. A house that burned. Visitors who say the birds stop. Shadow figures between the trunks. Ed and Lorraine Warren later talking about it like something was running the place.

Truth Beyond is not here to tell you Dudleytown is haunted. Or that it isn’t. Josh and Frank walk the history, the legend, and the claims — then the other version: bad land, a dying iron industry, a 1926 town history that storytellers kept expanding, and a forest people planted over a grave.

The Haunting in Connecticut didn’t start as a movie. It started as a family who moved into a former funeral home in Southington because their son was dying of cancer and they needed to be closer to the hospital. The basement still had the leftover tools of the taking care of the dead. Then the Warrens showed up and called it demonic.

This is Part 1 of Truth Beyond’s two-part look at Connecticut’s ugliest paranormal stories. Hosts Josh and Frank unpack what the Snedekers said happened in the old Hallahan Funeral Home, why Ed and Lorraine Warren believed something worse than ghosts was already in the walls, and why the writer hired to tell the “true” story later said the accounts didn’t match.

Frank isn’t just reading a case file here either. As a teenager he went through the house himself. He also sat in on an Ed and Lorraine Warren seminar. That first-hand piece is what this episode is built around — not the Hollywood version.

Was it desecration and a dormant presence that locked onto a sick kid? Or illness, fear, money, and a story that got sharper every time someone retold it?

On the rainy night of November 2, 1966, salesman Woodrow Derenberger was driving home on Interstate 77 near Parkersburg, West Virginia, when something blocked the highway. What stepped out was not the internet’s “Grinning Man.” According to Derenberger’s first account — given on local television within 24 hours — it was a normal-looking man in a dark coat. He smiled. He asked Woody to roll down the window. And he spoke without moving his mouth.

This episode of Truth Beyond goes back to the original Indrid Cold encounter before the legend took over. We separate Derenberger’s roadside story from later claims about the planet Lanulos, repeated contact, and trips to another world. We look at why the case exploded thirteen days later when Mothman reports hit Point Pleasant, how John Keel folded Cold into a larger West Virginia wave, and how a separate New Jersey “Grinning Man” sighting got blended into the same face.

We also cover the problems the story never escaped: no physical evidence, astronomy that doesn’t hold up, details that grew over time, almost no independent witnesses, and a TV prank caller who invented a Lanulos visit that Derenberger publicly confirmed.

Was it a hoax, a misperception, a psychological event, or something that wanted to look human? We don’t tell you what to believe. We ask the question the original story actually leaves behind: what if the most unsettling visitor wouldn’t look like a monster at all?
