Who can you trust these days? Your parents may have told you about Santa Claus when you were young and then you get older and find out there is no Santa Claus. Santa Claus was sacred. Once a year he brought you presents and then you find out he was not even real. Who ate the cookies and milk you set out for him the night before?
When parent seeks to present the concept of God to a child, the child wants to know if God is real. He better be more real than Santa Claus. A child's faith rests on a foundation of trust. Is God real? Can He be trusted if He is real. Who is He? What does He say about me?
Trust is built over time. Relationships are built over time. It takes a long time to build trust and only a moment to destroy it. So what happens when a child learns that God heals people and miracles do happen, yet when he/she is expecting a miracle and it doesn't happen, what then?
Come listen to this podcast in which the subject of healing in the context of faith and trusting God is discussed with Papa Tom's eldest son Zak, the father of three sons. How do you deal with the issue of trusting God when you don't understand. It's an important issue. In many cases, it's a defining issue in a child's life. God can be trusted because He loves us and we trust that no matter what happens in life Father knows best.
We trust you will be edified by listening to this podcast for the Word tells us faith comes by hearing the spoken Word of God. Even angels harken to the spoken Word of God, so maybe you will harken too.
Blessings:
Papa Tom
