President Donald Trump says the United States is open to talks with Iran, while describing the war as essentially almost over. The comments come amid continuing military tensions and a United States naval campaign targeting Iranian shipping. The president also confirmed that American B-1 bombers were moved from a British air base after officials received unspecified threats. Vice President J. D. Vance said there is no conclusive evidence connecting Iran to a separate aviation security incident. President Trump has signed an executive order temporarily allowing tax-free red-dyed diesel to be used on public roads. The administration says the move is intended to reduce diesel costs while fuel prices remain elevated. The Justice Department has announced denaturalization proceedings against forty naturalized citizens. The department says the cases involve allegations including immigration fraud, concealed criminal conduct, espionage, and acting as an agent for a foreign government. The proceedings will be decided in federal court. The administration is also facing a legal challenge over more than two point six billion dollars in federal grants awarded to Harvard University. The Justice Department is asking a federal appeals court to revive efforts to terminate the funding. In technology policy, President Trump’s administration is advancing the term super intelligence in place of artificial intelligence for federal communications. Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton is expected to lead a new White House force coordinating policy on advanced technology. The White House has also said that future political advertising supporting the administration will be funded by the president’s political organization rather than by American taxpayers. That is the latest from Washington. Thank you for tuning in to White House Daily Briefing.
