In that moment of not being offered the customary respect that was due, God brought a woman to anoint Christ in the absence of respect. Day 14: Today we look at Luke 9, where three different men are willing to follow Jesus but... They all desired what Jesus had, but they did not trust that He would be able to take care of them. They wanted Jesus to compromise with them so that they could also remain loyal to their lifestyles. Convenience can often cause us to reject the calling that God has placed on our lives. The journey can be difficult, and the path is narrow, but the prize that Jesus has for us is not in this world. It is in eternity! God has called us to follow Jesus, but we need to do so wholeheartedly. Day 13: World Hunger. When Jesus was tired and exhausted He still took the time to feed the hungry. He made sure that the people who were following Him were not only fed spiritually, but physically as well. He was moved with compassion toward them and refused to allow them to leave hungry, even when His disciples were tired and wanted to send them away. It is at this time that we see a massive miracle occur. He challenged His disciples to step out in faith and feed the multitude. 5,000 men with 2 loaves and 5 fishes. Even when tired, Jesus showed us that He serves those who are seeking Him. He has also shown us that it is our responsibility to care for those in need.
