    In this episode, we explore the disappearance that obsessed an entire community: the forgotten statement of Lloyd Lee Wells in 1975, its rediscovery 38 years later, and the confessions that ultimately came too late. From the "man with the tape recorder" that no one could identify to the massive blood traces found in a basement, we will examine how investigative negligence allowed the mystery to linger for three decades.

    On August 19, 2020, Sydney went for a jog on her usual route on County Road. Hours later, her bloodied phone and glasses were found scattered on the road. The impossible: the man who deliberately ran her over with his truck volunteered to search for the body he himself had buried, embracing her mother while lying without remorse.

The man who prepared it had been released by order of the governor just three weeks prior, after serving only a fraction of his sentence. How was a repeat offender with three prior convictions put back on the streets without real supervision?

    In this episode, we explore the chain of decisions that allowed Lawrence Anderson—who repeatedly violated his parole—to be released just weeks before committing a massacre of criminal minds. We analyze Anderson's confession about the extraction of the heart from his neighbor Andrea Blankenship, the testimony of the only survivor who pretended to be dead, and the forensic investigation that exposed a completely broken justice system.

    - He cooked the human organ in his home, demanded that his family eat it to "expel demons," and killed his uncle Leon Pai and four-year-old Caseigh Gates when they resisted.
    - Anderson's criminal record showed three prior convictions (2006, 2012, 2017), none fully served, and two documented parole violations that never resulted in his return to prison.
