His father was a truck driver, starting his career in the late 1950s. John’s own journey started right in the driveway, changing oil and helping his dad work on the truck.Before long, John and his father were driving together. They bought their own truck, then another, and eventually grew their operation from a couple of trucks to five, then seven, and built their own trucking company.After his father passed away, John continued running the company on his own. Along the way, he experienced the highs and lows of owning a trucking business, including being cheated out of hundreds of thousands of dollars by an employee.Eventually, John decided it was time to sell the company and retire. But retirement didn’t keep him away from trucking for long.
