In working on the Highway 50 - Traveling Roads: The Sounds of the Highway through Colorado, I tell the stories of the many unknown musicians, journalists, vaudeville, circuit riders, farmers, and miners who pioneered the lesser-known highway (Route 66 and Highway 61 are better known), and I remembered writing and recording this music - as close as I could, as if I were traveling through these circuits with Yancy and David. The recording studio was our time machine. I plan to use the stem mixes to play along Highway 50 and perhaps Denver as a tribute to David and Yancy. And the sounds of the highway.
