This is the last Research and Development episode for Season 4!
This study, entitled “Treating the musician rather than the symptom: The holistic tools employed by current practices to attend the non-motor problems of musicians with task-specific focal dystonia” by Anna Détári (2023) is a really well written piece on what musicians focal dystonia is.
She interviewed several experts when it comes to focal dystonia, including neurologists, physiotherapists, and professional musicians who help other musicians rehab from FD.
She found that there were three main themes as far as how to help musicians dealing with this issue.
Watch to find out what they found!
