Kenmare Resources (AIM:KMR; Euronext: KMR) has been productively producing titanium metals feedstock from it’s 100% owned and operated Moma Mine in Mozambique for two decades. The mine is a significant contributor to the Mozambique economy, produces 6% of exports and employs 1700 people. Ilmenite provides the depth of colour and opacity in paint.

The business has hit short term headwinds which have knocked the share price. The market for the Ilmenite feedstock which constitutes 70% of revenue is weak, although global supply is gradually beginning to align with demand. Furthermore, the Implementation Agreement which governs the royalty the Mozambique Government will receive for the next 20 years is up for renegotiation, and although productive discussions have been had, the Government are in no rush to sign it off. The big question for Kenmare is, when will these headwinds be over, and what will the share price catalysts be?
