◊ Before the thunderstorm—heavenly honor for the LORD’S glory

▪ honor for the LORD’S glorious strength (vv. 1, 11a)

▪ worship for the LORD’S beautiful holiness (v. 2b)

◊ During the thunderstorm—the Voice of the LORD’s glory

▪ from the Northwest over the Mediterranean Sea southward

over Lebanon’s cedars (vv. 3-5)

▪ from Lebanon’s cedars in the North southward over Mount

Hermon in Israel (v. 6)

▪ from Mount Hermon in Israel southward into the Kadesh

desert (“barren,” vv. 7-8) and treed oasis (“mighty oaks,” v. 9)

◊ After the thunderstorm—the Reign of the LORD’S glory

▪ is sovereign (“rules over,” vv. 10a, 11)
