  • How Can I Be Thankful When Life Is Hard? Two Warning Signs We Often Miss
    2026/10/20

How can I be thankful when life is hard?

In this special Thanksgiving episode of This Way, we explore two surprising warning signs that can quietly steal our gratitude: hardship and abundance.

When life hurts, we can become so focused on our circumstances that we forget the goodness of God. But when life is comfortable, we can become so captivated by His gifts that we forget the Giver.

Through Deuteronomy 8, Psalm 103, and Paul's words to give thanks “in all circumstances,” we discover that biblical gratitude isn't pretending everything is okay or being thankful for painful circumstances.

    It's remembering.

Remembering God's faithfulness. His mercy. His compassion. His presence.

Perhaps gratitude is more than an emotion. Perhaps it's an orientation—one that gently turns our eyes away from the steepness of the trail or the beauty of the gifts and back toward the God who walks beside us.

Whether life is painfully difficult or wonderfully comfortable, the invitation remains the same:

Look again. Remember. And keep walking.

Because the trail may not always be easy, but the Guide is always faithful.

This Way Podcast helps Christian women and faith-seeking listeners discover the sacred in their everyday steps through biblical teaching, personal stories, spiritual formation, and meaningful conversations.

    Look again. God is here.

  • How Do I Keep Trusting God? Enough to Remember
    2026/10/06

What keeps your faith alive when life gets hard?

Sometimes we think we need something new from God—a new answer, a new sign, a new word of encouragement. But what if, sometimes, what we need most is to remember what God has already done?

In this episode of This Way, we walk into Joshua 4, where the Israelites have finally crossed the Jordan River after forty years of wandering. God tells them to gather twelve stones from the river and build a memorial. Why?

    Because God's people are forgetful.

Those stones would become a physical reminder for future generations: Let me tell you what God did.

We'll explore what it means to remember God's faithfulness, trust God when life gets difficult, and recognize the ways He has already been present and faithful in our own stories.

We'll also look at the remarkable legacy of Terry Fox, whose Marathon of Hope continues to inspire Canadians decades after his own journey was cut short. His story reminds us that memorials aren't simply about looking backward—they help carry courage, perseverance, and hope forward.

And then we'll sit at another table of remembrance.

Jesus took bread and the cup and said:

"Do this in remembrance of Me."

    Israel had stones.

    We have a table.

    Different memorial.

    Same invitation:

    Remember.

Maybe you've forgotten an answered prayer.

Maybe you've forgotten how God carried you through a difficult season.

Maybe you've become so focused on today's struggle that you've lost sight of yesterday's faithfulness.

    Come walk with me.

    Let's slow down.

    Let's remember.

And perhaps we'll discover that yesterday's faithfulness is exactly what we need for today's courage.

Key Scriptures: Joshua 4:1–9; Luke 22:19; Psalm 77:11–12.

    New episodes every other Tuesday.

If you're longing to walk more closely with Jesus, discover the sacred in your everyday steps, and learn to recognize His presence in the ordinary moments of life, follow This Way and let's keep walking together.
