This Erotic Timeline is a weekly podcast for people who have started to suspect that the timeline they were handed is costing them something they can't always name yet. This podcast is about time. Not the kind you can measure, but the kind that moves through your body whether you cooperate with it or not.

Hosted by Amalia — astrologer, counselor, coach, committed hopeful disciple of the impossible— each episode does two things: it covers the week's astrology with the mythological depth it deserves, then descends into history, grief, embodiment, and whatever that week is actually asking for. We've traced how Caesar stole the lunar calendar, what New Orleans' mud and maroon communities know about the future, and what Venus looked like before the patriarchy took her teeth.

    This week's episode explores how moving through time doesn’t have to be a choice between counting precisely and crossing thresholds creatively, it's both at once. Bali runs two entirely different calendars side by side, one pure arithmetic, one built for ritual, and together they show what it actually takes to build a portal precise enough to hold you when you cross it: dawn walks to the sea, offerings at the crossroads, monstrous effigies built and burned, and a full day when the entire island, tourists included, goes completely silent. In the astrology section we close out eclipse season with Thursday’s a Pisces full moon lunar eclipse squaring the disruptor Uranus in Gemini, alongside a Mercury cazimi burning off old stories. We trace Pisces back to the myth of Typhon, the chaos monster born, in some tellings, through Aphrodite's own desire, and to Aphrodite and Eros's escape into the Euphrates as two fish tied together at the tail, set against Inanna, Aphrodite's fiercer Mesopotamian predecessor, who walked into the underworld with her eyes open. But it turns out an observational calendar doesn’t give us an escape hatch from state violence: the episode traces Iran's Solar and Lunar Hijri calendars from Zoroastrian kingship through the Arab conquest, a mathematician-poet's 1079 calendar reform, and a 1925 nationalist restoration that came bundled with ethnic violence. The throughline: even the most accurate calendar in the world still gets used to decide who counts, and the episode closes by turning that question on gender, capitalism, and what it means to resource oneself under capitalism.
