The New York Jets showed a ton of fight in Detroit… but moral victories don’t count in the standings.
After falling behind 24–10, Geno Smith and the Jets stormed all the way back to tie the game at 24. Garrett Wilson delivered a huge fourth-down touchdown, Kenyon Sadiq had a breakout performance, and for a moment it looked like the Jets might pull off an incredible comeback.
Then it slipped away.
Detroit answered immediately, Jahmyr Gibbs scored his third touchdown of the game, and the Jets’ final drive ended with Geno Smith being strip-sacked as New York fell 31–24 and dropped to 1–2.
So how should Jets fans feel?
This team has now lost two straight games, Aaron Glenn continues to have decisions and mistakes worth questioning, and nobody wants to celebrate losses. But something about these Jets feels different. They fight. They respond. They look competitive against good football teams.
Are the Jets actually building something—or are we falling for another version of the same old story?
We break down the loss, Geno’s performance, Garrett Wilson, Kenyon Sadiq’s breakout game, the defense’s late collapse, Aaron Glenn’s coaching and where the Jets go from here.
