- At 5:50 AM on August 9, 2011 a 15-year-old paperboy named Kevin Bauer found the loading dock door swinging open and called 911.
- The painting Dusk at Henner Creek is roughly 4 feet by 3 feet and was painted in the 1930s by Amos Fell.
- The frame was carved around 1830 and authenticated by Delmar Conservation Institute, the Carrington Appraisal Group, and a specialist at Westfield University.
- The canvas left the museum on September 14, 2010 for condition review and returned 12 days later, logged on September 26, 2010.
- The crate that left carried the Selwyn’s stencil; the crate that returned was plain, noted in the handwritten loading dock ledger but not acted upon for 11 months.
