On October 10th, 2026, Round 2 of the Baycurrent Classic delivered a brutal back-nine gauntlet, bizarre rules situations, and a crowded leaderboard topped by Keith Mitchell and Jacob Bridgeman.

• Keith Mitchell and Jacob Bridgeman sit atop the leaderboard at 11-under. Mitchell fired a 65 while Bridgeman grinded out a 68, navigating Yokohama's brutal back-nine gauntlet featuring zero par 5s and tough pins on 11, 12, 14, 16, and 18.
• Bridgeman is hunting for his third win this year, calling the prospect "magic," despite struggling with his iron accuracy.
• Mitchell credits his new "dad life" for mitigating emotional lows and praised Michael Johnson, while Bridgeman is treating the week as a delayed honeymoon with his Japanese physio acting as a tour guide.

• Sahith Theegala faced a comical rules situation on the 11th hole when his ball vanished into a pine tree, leading caddies Carl Smith and Josh Cassell to desperately throw umbrellas into the branches to identify it.
• "We all heard it hit the tree really loud but nobody ever saw the ball come down," Theegala said of the "duel chucking umbrellas" incident.
• Despite the chaos, Theegala managed to scramble for a recovery bogey that he admitted "kind of felt like a par."

• Max Homa rattled off five consecutive back-nine birdies for a 68, while Ben Kohles fired a bogey-free 62, highlighted by a front-nine 29, an eagle on the 6th, and a 60-foot bomb on 16.
• The broadcast declared Kohles' putter "white hot," while Homa praised the "double special" Japanese culture and showed immense resilience after a poor tee shot on 14.
• Homa admitted to streaming the LA Dodgers, saying, "Yesterday I had the phone out on the putting green," while Kohles joked playing partner Michael Kim brought good energy but Mitchell was a "pain."

Zach Bauchou & Mac Meissner lurk at 9-under • Justin Thomas & Min Woo Lee sit right in the mix at 8-under • Veterans Adam Scott & Sungjae Im hang around at 6-under
