  • You Are No Exception to Death
    2026/07/13

It started with a morning run on Sunday, a moment that unexpectedly brought me back to John Donne's poem, Death, Be Not Proud.

In this episode, I recite and reflect on the poem and speak about something we have slowly pushed out of our minds: death. We live as though we will be here forever, and perhaps many of the things we struggle with today come from forgetting that one day, this life will end.

This episode is a call back to reality. A reminder that death will come, and after death comes eternity. So the question is: how are we living now, and how will we stand before Allah with the life we chose to live?

A conversation about death, eternity, and remembering where we are ultimately going.

  • Allah's hidden favor, allowing you to struggle in private
    2026/07/06

Some of the heaviest things we carry are the ones no one ever finds out about. The sleepless nights, the unspoken worries, the quiet du'as made in the dark while the world only sees us smiling, showing up, getting through the day. In this episode, we sit with the idea that this hiddenness isn't a lack, but a mercy. We talk about what it means to struggle privately while Allah preserves our dignity publicly, why not everything needs an audience to be valid, and how faith holds space for the parts of us that no one else witnesses. A gentle, honest conversation for anyone carrying something quietly right now.

  • Your Worth Doesn't Need a Witness
    2026/06/29

Your worth doesn't need a witness. In this episode, we sit with one of the most quietly powerful moments in the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ the day a man walked into a gathering looking for the Messenger of Allah, and couldn't find him. Not because he wasn't there, but because the greatest human being to ever walk this earth was sitting on the floor, among his people, with nothing to prove to anyone. In a world that tells us to perform our worth, chase our validation, and make sure everyone in the room knows who we are this story is a reminder that true honour has never needed an audience. This one is for every sister who is tired of waiting for the room to confirm what Allah already knows about her.

  • Does your haya survive your hardest day ?
    2026/06/22

Does your haya survive your hardest days? In this episode, we sit with one of the most powerful moments in Islamic history the story of Sayyida Zainab, radiAllahu anha, and the single gesture she made in the aftermath of Karbala that said everything about what modesty truly means. In a time where hijab has become an aesthetic and haya has become negotiable, this story calls us back to something deeper. This one is for every sister who has ever found her hijab feeling heavy, her faith feeling distant, or her sense of self quietly slipping under the pressure of the world around her.

  • The pain is intentional: lessons from Uwais
    2026/06/01

The Marks That Remain: Lessons from Uwais al-Qarani

Some wounds heal, yet their marks remain. Some prayers are answered, yet the memory of the struggle never leaves us. Why?

In this episode, we reflect on the remarkable story of Uwais al-Qarani a man whose love for the Prophet ﷺ was so profound that he journeyed to Madinah hoping to meet him, only to return home without fulfilling his deepest longing. His devotion to serving his mother outweighed his personal desire, and through that sacrifice, he attained a rank so beloved to Allah that the Prophet ﷺ later praised him to his companions.

Together, we explore the wisdom behind the scars, memories, and longings that remain in our lives. Perhaps not every mark is meant to disappear. Some are reminders of Allah’s mercy. Some keep us humble. Some preserve gratitude in our hearts. And some sacrifices that feel like losses today may be the very things that elevate us in the sight of Allah tomorrow.

Join us as we uncover how the traces of our past can become signs of divine love, growth, and nearness to Allah.

  • The Ripple Effect of Our Private Sins
    2026/04/21

The Ripple Effect of Our Private Sins

We live in a world that tells us: what you do in private is your business. Your choices, your consequences. No one else's.

But what if that's not the full picture?

In this episode, we sit with a powerful verse from Surah Ar-Rum (30:41) where Allah tells us that the corruption spreading across the land and sea is a direct result of what the hands of people have earned. Not just rulers. Not just 'society.' The hands of people. All of us.

We explore what Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said about the three levels of sin the private sin that harms only the sinner, the public sin that harms those around them, and the collective silence that invites consequence for everyone. And we ask the uncomfortable question: what are the private sins we've been minimising, thinking they only affect us?

This episode is a gentle but honest wake-up call and a reminder that the same principle works in reverse. Every prayer, every act of honesty, every moment of sincere istighfar ripples outward too.

You are not a unit on your own. What flows from you, flows into the world.

  • Is reciting the quran enough S2|E6
    2026/04/05

    We read the Qur’an.

    We recite it.

But why doesn’t it always reach us?

In this episode of Seeking Covering, I sit down with Sister Ramla to explore a question many of us feel but rarely voice why do we struggle to connect with the Qur’an?

We reflect on the powerful description of the Prophet ﷺ as a “walking Qur’an,” and what it really means to embody the message of the Qur’an in our lives.

From personal experiences to the impact of understanding the Qur’an in our own language, this conversation challenges us to move beyond recitation… to real connection.

  • The jacaranda season S2|E5
    2026/03/15

Last year I visited Pretoria during jacaranda season, when the entire city transforms into a tunnel of purple blossoms. The streets looked almost magical. But when I returned later, the flowers were gone and everything had returned to normal.

That simple moment became a powerful reminder about the nature of this world.

In this episode, we reflect on how the beauty of the jacaranda bloom mirrors the life of this dunya, captivating, attractive, but ultimately temporary. Drawing on verses from the Qur’an, including Surah Al-Hadid and Surah Al-‘Asr, we explore the deeper lesson behind the rise and fall of the seasons, and what it teaches us about time, priorities, and what truly lasts.

A Ramadan reflection on the fleeting nature of this world and the eternal value of what we do sincerely for Allah.
