- Denise missed her weekly 5:50 AM call to neighbor Agnes Pruitt on February 6 and was discovered in a ditch around 3:30 AM on February 8 with blunt trauma.
- Deputy Kelly Long, assigned after the sheriff recused, treats the passport as the first concrete lead and brings it to border officer Tom Vickers.
