The baptismal font that kept his name after he walked back into England
In this episode, we follow John Frith from a Kent inn to Eton and Cambridge, through detention, exile in Antwerp, published pamphlets, and a deliberate return to England despite outstanding warrants. What choices and convictions led him to walk back into a country already plotting his arrest?

Location: Smithfield, London; Westerham, Kent; Cambridge; Antwerp
Event: return to England in 1532 with warrants issued against him
- Born the son of Richard Frith, an innkeeper at the White Horse in Westerham, and baptized at a fourteenth-century font that still bears his name.
