What happens when trying to be a good Christian wife starts costing you your voice, your confidence, and your peace?

The Worthy Wife is a Christian marriage podcast for women who are tired of walking on eggshells, keeping the peace, and making themselves smaller to avoid conflict or disappointment.

I’m Carrie Allemeersch, Certified Christian Life Coach. Here we have honest conversations about difficult marriages, boundaries, people-pleasing, emotional safety, self-confidence, and what it means to stop abandoning yourself while still taking your faith and marriage seriously.

We’ll talk about questions Christian wives often struggle to say out loud:

How do I set boundaries without becoming hard or bitter?

Does being a godly wife mean I have to keep the peace?

What if my husband doesn’t approve of my choices?

Can I stop managing his emotions without destroying my marriage?

What does submission actually require of me?

Can I stay in my marriage without abandoning myself?

And who am I if my husband never becomes the man I hoped he would be?

This isn't about teaching you how to become better at managing your husband.

It's about becoming steady in who God created you to be.

You'll learn how to separate your worth from your husband's approval, stop taking responsibility for emotions and choices that aren't yours, speak honestly without panic, and make decisions from clarity rather than fear.

Your husband doesn't have to change before you do.

If you're a Christian wife who loves God, values her marriage, and is tired of disappearing inside it, The Worthy Wife is for you.

  • Are You His Biblical Helper or Just a 'Yes Man'? Christian Marriage, Eggshells
    2026/10/20
Helper or Enabler? Finding Your Voice as a Christian Wife Carrie introduces a new coaching program for Christian wives who feel they are walking on eggshells, inviting the first 10 women to email for an application to join weekly personal coaching at a founding price of 997 Canadian dollars to learn to speak up with courage and grace without apologizing, shutting down, or trying to control outcomes. In the episode, she asks whether wives are truly their husbands’ helpers or have become enablers who make excuses, buffer consequences, and say yes to avoid conflict, creating codependent and unhealthy dynamics. She encourages wives to show up as purposeful partners, state what they agree or disagree with, set boundaries about what they will and won’t do, and stop seeking approval, sharing how her marriage has helped her grow in confidence and reliance on God. 00:00 New Coaching Program 00:40 Founding Member Offer 02:32 Welcome and Big Question 02:42 Helper or Enabler 06:26 Stop Being the Yes Man 07:51 Your Role in Marriage 08:59 Personal Growth Story 10:04 Stand Alone in Faith 10:54 Invitation and Goodbye hello@coachedbycarrie.com carrieallemeersch.com

  • I Stopped Making My Husband the Center of My Life
    2026/09/29

Have you made your husband—or even your marriage—the center of your life?

For years, I didn't realize how much of my life was being organized around my husband's happiness, opinions, reactions and approval.

Eventually, I had to separate myself from my husband.

I don't mean that I left my marriage. I mean that I had to remember something important:

My husband and I are two different people.

I am not my husband. I am not my marriage. And being a Christian wife does not mean making my husband the reference point for every decision I make.

In this episode of The Worthy Wife Podcast, I'm sharing part of my own marriage story and what happened when I stopped trying to manage my husband, protect the marriage at all costs, and keep everyone happy—and put God back at the center of my life.

    We talk about:

    • How husband-pleasing can quietly replace God-pleasing • Why making your marriage your highest priority can create fear and pressure • The difference between honoring your marriage and making an idol of it • Why your husband's mood, approval and choices are not yours to manage • What changed when I stopped making my husband my reference point • Why putting yourself at the center isn't the answer either • How your decisions change when you ask, “Does this bring glory to God?” • Why becoming more like Christ—not more like your husband—is the goal • What it can look like to trust God with the outcome of your marriage

You can be a loving, faithful Christian wife even when your husband is unhappy with you.

You can stop arranging your life around avoiding his anger, disappointment or disapproval.

And you can stop carrying responsibility for a marriage outcome that ultimately belongs to God.

You and your husband are two different people. Your job is not to become more like him. Your job is to become more like Christ.

If you're having a hard time separating who you are from your husband or your marriage, this is the work I do with Christian wives.

We untangle what belongs to you, what belongs to your husband, and what needs to be placed back into God's hands—so you can make decisions from faith rather than fear.

  • Am I Depending On My Husband, Children or Grandchildren For My Worth? Husband Pleasing, Self Worth, Eggshells
    2026/10/06

When an important relationship becomes strained, it is easy to question not only what happened but what your pain says about you.

In this episode of The Worthy Wife, Carrie offers a careful way to examine that question without turning grief into another reason to condemn yourself.

Loving your family deeply, wanting a relationship restored and grieving limited contact do not automatically prove idolatry. The more revealing question is whether you have given another person the authority to establish your identity, worth or peace.

    In this episode:

    • When a loved one may be functioning as an idol
    • Why grief does not automatically prove idolatry
    • The difference between loving someone and depending upon their approval
    • What your husband’s approval may seem to prove about you
    • Why your children’s distance does not define your success as a mother
    • Prayer and journal questions to help you seek clarity without shame

You can love your husband, children and grandchildren deeply without asking them to deliver the final verdict about who you are.
