  • I Feel More Like Myself Than I Ever Have - with Tracey, Workit Health Member
    2026/08/25

Tracy spent decades fighting addiction, cycling through six treatment centers that never stuck. Chronic pain pulled her into the opioid crisis, and after a frightening hospital stay last January, she was getting by on borrowed Suboxone until her doctor pointed her toward Workit Health.

In this member testimony, Tracy talks about what it means to recover without performing it for someone else — no judgment, no mandatory meetings, no pressure to spill her secrets to strangers. Fifteen months in, she says she feels more like herself than she ever has. "A better version of Tracy," as she puts it.

If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction, Workit Health offers compassionate, evidence-based treatment for alcohol and opioid use disorder, all from the privacy of home. Learn more at workithealth.com.

  • Do Good, Be Good - with Marc Lee Shannon
    2026/08/24

Marc Lee Shannon spent 25 years touring with the Michael Stanley Band while climbing the corporate ladder in sales — all while hiding a drinking problem that eventually landed him in the ICU three times. In this episode, Marc talks about growing up in a working-class Akron family full of secrets, and the difference between being high-functioning and just being good at hiding it.

He shares the moment that changed everything: his son telling him, "I don't worry about you anymore." For Marc, recovery eventually distilled down to a simple philosophy — do good, be good — a lesson he now carries into his work as a recovery coach. He's also a musician and author of Sober Chronicles.

  • You Don’t Have to Believe to Start - with Jeannine Coulter, Chasing Heroine
    2026/08/18

Jeannine Coulter once sat in jail facing $100,000 bail and the possibility of prison, and realized she'd become the person she always thought she could never become.

Jeannine, creator and host of Chasing Heroine, sits down with Max for a candid, funny, and deeply personal conversation about addiction, homelessness, shame, and relapse. She shares the long arc of her addiction — from heavy drinking and cocaine while still holding her life together on the outside, to homelessness, heroin, meth, and arrests — and how her relationship with that past has changed. The shame she once carried began to fade as she realized addiction had forced her out of what she calls a "half life" and toward a fuller version of herself.

Along the way, Max and Jeannine talk about why attempts at recovery are never wasted, finding gratitude for the experiences that brought them to their knees, and how telling the truth — with plenty of humor — can become its own form of connection.

It's a conversation about going all the way down, finding your way back, and discovering that the parts of your story you once wanted to hide might eventually become the parts that help someone else.

  • Logging In Feels Like Coming Home - with Randy, Workit Health Member
    2026/08/14

Randy's mother was incarcerated at his birth. He was raised by his great-grandparents in a small town where drugs were part of daily life. In 2005, he lost both parents and two brothers to overdose within weeks of each other.

In this member testimony, Randy speaks candidly about decades of chaotic use — weed, pills, crack, heroin — including a rock-bottom moment interrupted, almost absurdly, by a bank's opening hours, and the circumstantial relapses that followed. Two years ago, he found Work It Health. Suboxone treatment and consistent, judgment-free support gave him the foundation to finally stay off opioids, even through two surgeries.

Today Randy lives in sober living, is mending relationships, is training to become a certified peer support specialist, and just marked six months of consistent sobriety. He credits telehealth recovery's privacy, accessibility, and a team that's always a phone call away. His message for anyone still struggling: log on, make the connection, give it a try.

  • Your Recovery Isn't My Business - with Dave Manheim, Dopey Podcast
    2026/08/14

Dave Manheim once judged people for using methadone or Suboxone to get sober. Ten years into his own recovery, he's rethinking almost everything he used to believe — including AA, harm reduction, kratom and 7-OH, and the judgment that can show up inside recovery communities themselves.

Dave is the creator and host of the Dopey Podcast. In this episode, he talks with Max about the winding path that led him to abstinence, why someone else's recovery isn't his business, and what happens when we make a little more room for each other — and for the many different ways people find their way forward.
