Have you ever felt alone? Like everyone you depend on has abandoned you? Psalm 42 predict that Jesus would be "forsaken" as He suffered on the cross and gave His life for us. Jesus was forsaken so we never have to experience that with God. Jesus promises He will never leave us or forsake us. I love cooking for family and friends! And I don't think I have enemies, but we all have people who we don't get along with. What's it like to eat dinner with someone who stabs you in the back? Psalm 41 predicts that Jesus would eat dinner with the man who betrayed him. How does that impact us and our dinner guests? Jesus knew who would betray him, and he ate with him anyway, that's what love looks like.

We are kicking off a new series, called Summer in the Psalms. for the next few weeks we get to encounter Jesus in the Psalms. The whole Old Testament points forward to the coming of Jesus the Messiah. Psalm 2 reveals the coming Messiah is the Son of God, and yet the nations rage against God's Anointed because the want their own way. So who do you think is in charge of your life? Are you raging or rejoicing in the Son of God?
