Welcome to Orange County Network, Our guest today has a story that proves it's never too late to reinvent yourself and pursue a new dream.
After graduating from USC in 1981, Debbie Burwell built an impressive 35-year career in the furniture industry, mastering everything from sales and marketing to manufacturing and inventory management. In an industry largely dominated by men, she earned the respect of her peers and was recognized as Ashley Furniture's Marketing Specialist of the Year.
At the same time, Debbie was raising two children as a single mother, balancing career success with the responsibilities of providing for her family and planning for the future.
Then life took an unexpected turn.
After meeting Rick Collins following the COVID era, Debbie found herself part of a group of friends who shared a passion for cigars, conversation, and community. When they couldn't find the kind of upscale cigar lounge, they wanted to visit, an idea began to take shape. What started as casual conversations among friends eventually became The Winston's Club
After two years of challenges and perseverance, Winston's opened its doors and quickly became a gathering place built on friendship, hospitality, and community. Today, the business has expanded with a second location in Yorba Linda and is celebrating its first anniversary as a growing Orange County success story.
