    Marigold's Bookstore started small. Then Bartlesville showed up.

    In this episode, Andy sits down inside Marigold's with co-owner Kandelyne Wingate to talk about the bookstore's rapid growth, its move from a roughly 900-square-foot storefront into a much larger downtown space and the big plans still taking shape behind the shelves.

    The conversation goes well beyond the business of selling books. Kandelyne explains how she and her sister, Katie Taylor, built the store around community, personal recommendations and the idea that a bookstore can become a true third space — somewhere people work, study, meet friends and stay awhile.

    They also get into Bartlesville's current favorite books, the chaos and fun of running a monthly book club, local authors, special orders, audiobooks, Stephen King, Harry Potter and the pressure readers sometimes feel to catch up on every so-called classic.

    There are also detours into Narnia wardrobes, Blockbuster nostalgia, bookstore cats and whether Marigold's has the bookstore smell.
