There is a gap in the hawthorn hedge, just wide enough for someone who knows how to look properly!

On the other side is Mossvale, an enchanted world where fairy folk move through ancient woodland at dusk and the wheel of the year is marked with fire, blossom and long tables pulled into the square.

The Wild Goddess Podcast is a folklore and re-enchantment podcast, part storytelling, part wisdom teachings, part quiet ritual. Each episode brings you original fairylore, seasonal folklore, my own written stories, nature poetry, guided meditations, and honest teachings on what it actually means to re-enchant your life in the modern world.

This is a podcast for anyone who has ever felt the pull of an old forest. Who leaves offerings for things they can't see. Who marks the turning of the year. Who has always suspected the world is far more enchanted than it lets on.

Come find the gap in the hedge.

Welcome to Mossvale.

  • Ep 95 - Notifications, the Thief of Peace: Finding Calm in Nature
    2026/10/07

Do you ever feel on edge, waiting for the next ping? In this episode I share my poem Notifications, the Thief of Peace, a love letter to a childhood of street lights, house phones, muddy knees and frogs under lily pads, and then we talk about what constant phone notifications are really doing to our minds.

I'm sharing some research showing that even an ignored notification pulls our attention away, how phone alerts can leave us feeling scattered and restless, and a surprising study on why batching notifications works better than switching them all off.

Then we head outside with some research from the University of Derby on noticing the good things in nature, the lovely "awe walks" study, and why just two hours a week in nature is linked to better health and wellbeing. Most of all, this is an invitation to reclaim your peace, slow down, and rediscover the everyday enchantment that's still waiting just outside your door.

  • Ep 94 - The Sky's Going on Fire | A Fairy Folklore Story of Wonder
    2026/09/21

A cosy fairy folklore story about wonder, friendship and finding your way back to the natural world.

Mason, the little Ground-Bound fairy from the Hollow, has been best friends with Ellis, a boy from the village of Appledown, for five whole summers. But Ellis has started at the big school now, with a phone in his pocket, a group chat that never stops pinging and a lot of unspoken rules about what counts as babyish. The bird feeder hangs empty, the hedgehog goes hungry and the sunsets go unwatched.

When Mason walks into the Elderwood to visit an old friend he finds some comforting words of hope & a reminder that wonder is still within us.

Rooted in British folklore, the changing seasons and the magic of the everyday, this is a story for a slow evening, a digital detox or drifting off to sleep.

You can find Masons first story on episode number 62

  • Ep 93 - The Daisy Who Longed for Winter — A Mossvale Folktale
    2026/09/15

In the hedgerows of Mossvale, the hedgerow fairy Violet keeps a daisy named Deloris company through the last of the autumn rain. Deloris has heard every description Violet can give her of winter's frost, its icicles, its lace-spun cobwebs, but as an oxeye daisy, she'll never see a single one of them herself. When Violet brings a curious little snow globe to Edith, the ancient wise woman of the Wild Moors, an old magic offers Deloris one borrowed hour inside a winter that was never meant to be hers, and she comes back wanting a whole season of it.

A folklore story about longing for the lives we weren't given, and the quiet work of learning to love the season we're actually in. Part of the Mossvale story world, rooted in British folklore, hedgerow magic, and the turning year.
