  • Lasting Legacy: Trip Banks, ’76, and Ross Anderson, ‘79

    Despite the Phi Sigma Epsilon fraternity closing its doors on the Hillsdale campus in the late 1980s, for more than 40 years the Phi Sigs continued to gather on their property on Hillsdale Street for Homecoming and other special events to reconnect, remember, and celebrate their friendships. In 2016, Phi Sig alumni came up with a pavilion idea and concept for their property. Partnering with the College, that plan was eventually finalized, and in 2024, the Phi Sig Alumni Pavilion was built and dedicated. Two of those Phi Sigs, Trip Banks and Ross Anderson, talk about the project and their lasting legacy.

  • Margaret Handel, ’17: Water World
    2026/05/22

    Margaret Handel from the Class of 2017 graduated with a degree in economics. However, she was not looking for a 9-to-5 job. Hearing about the U.S. Merchant Marines while at Hillsdale, she decided to continue her education, graduating from the Great Lakes Maritime Academy and becoming an officer in the Merchant Marines. Learn about her experiences of traveling the oceans of the world.

  • Troy Weatherhead, ’11: Outstanding in His Field

    Troy Weatherhead from the class of 2011 was known for his accuracy and leadership at quarterback for the Chargers. The former All-American and GLIAC Player of the Year is one of the newest members of Hillsdale College’s Athletic Hall of Fame. Once a standout on the football field, he now succeeds in the medical sales field as Senior Director of Global Marketing for Stryker Sage.

  • From Hillsdale to Hozho Academy: Juliane Malia Hillock, ’91

    Juliane Malia Hillock from the class of 1991 has dedicated her life to education.Originally from Portland, Maine, she is the founding principal of Hozho Academy in Gallup, New Mexico, a Hillsdale College Barney Charter School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Hillsdale College and a master’s degree in school leadership from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education.

  • The Shooting Guy: Rob Fodor, ’84
    2025/07/17

    Rob Fodor from the class of 1984 was a sharpshooting guard who could do it all during his basketball playing days with the Chargers. Since graduation, he has carved out an interesting career, which includes modeling, business ventures, and being the shooting coach of the NBA’s Miami Heat. In his spare time, he also is trying to qualify for the Senior PGA Tour.

  • Rock Star Judge: Nicole Khoury, ’99
    2025/06/19

    The Honorable Nicole Khoury from the class of 1999 is a rock star, both behind the bench and on stage. By day, she is a judge for the Toledo Municipal Court, and by night and on weekends she is the lead vocalist for the band Arctic Clam, which performs at many venues in the Midwest, including at Hillsdale College’s Homecoming.
