In Montego Bay, Jamaica the historic Rose Hall stands as a museum detailing its history on the island but at night many have claimed to see the spirit of one of its previous owners. An owner who had a dark history herself, one marred in witchcraft, torture, and murder.

Today we look at the legend of Annie Palmer, the ruthless owner of the Rose Hall plantation whose use of rituals and spells to attain power and instill fear, earned her the nickname of The White Witch of Rose Hall.

But are the legends true? Did Annie Palmer actually exist and did she perform the vicious rituals she is rumored to have done? If not, where did the stories start?
