  • Episode 575: How to Stop Pretending You’re Fine
    2026/08/21

How many times have you said “I’m fine” because it felt easier than explaining what you were really carrying?

In this heartfelt episode of Whinypaluza, Rebecca Greene talks with Christian life coach, speaker, and Amazon bestselling author Darla Nelson about the pressure women feel to look strong while privately carrying stress, anxious thoughts, grief, exhaustion, and emotional weight. Darla explains why honesty is the first step toward peace and why repeating “I’m fine” does not heal what is happening beneath the surface.

Rebecca and Darla explore how fear-driven thoughts become habits, how chronic stress can begin to affect the body, and how truthful thinking differs from toxic positivity. They also discuss building healthy habits one small step at a time, trusting God when life feels uncertain, allowing older children to learn through their own experiences, practicing self-care without guilt, and moving through grief with grace.

This conversation is a compassionate reminder that peace is not reserved for people with perfect lives. It begins with taking off the mask, acknowledging what you are carrying, and choosing the next faithful step.

In This Episode, You Will Learn

    • Why saying “I’m fine” can become a mask that keeps women from acknowledging what they need.
    • How repeated words and thoughts can shape the beliefs we form about ourselves.
    • How to replace fear-driven thinking with truthful thinking without slipping into toxic positivity.
    • Why ongoing stress can affect sleep, physical health, relationships, and everyday decisions.
    • How faith, small healthy habits, practical self-care, and grace can help create lasting peace.

  • Episode 574: What I Brought Home from Vacation besides Laundry
    2026/08/19

If you have ever returned home needing a vacation from your vacation, Rebecca and Seth Greene understand completely.

In this episode of Whinypaluza Wednesday, Rebecca shares what she brought home from a long-awaited multigenerational family vacation besides several loads of laundry. After years of dreaming about traveling with her parents, brother, sister-in-law, nieces, husband, and children, Rebecca finally helped make it happen.

The trip included college tours, jet skiing, dolphins, jellyfish, a boat ride Rebecca probably should not have taken without Dramamine, and the joy of seeing all 12 family members gathered around the same dinner table.

Not everything went according to plan. The hotel room was too small, there were not enough beds, the pool was indoors, traffic added an unexpected hour to the drive, and Rebecca became seasick. But those imperfect moments helped her recognize how much pressure she places on herself to make everything perfect.

Rebecca and Seth discuss why families need to plan around their real needs, why mothers must take care of themselves as carefully as they care for everyone else, and why being together matters more than creating a flawless itinerary.

In this episode, you will learn:

✓ Why you must stop talking about the memories you want to create and start making them happen.

✓ How planning around your family’s actual needs can make traveling more enjoyable for everyone.

✓ Why mothers should prepare for their own comfort and health, not only their children’s.

✓ How the pressure to create a perfect vacation can prevent you from enjoying the experience.

✓ Why connection, flexibility, and time together matter more than the hotel, schedule, or destination.

The laundry eventually gets washed. The imperfect hotel room becomes a funny story. What stays with you are the memories, the laughter, and the people who were sitting around the table.

  • Episode 573: Helping Neurodiverse and Marginalized Children Thrive
    2026/08/14

A child who melts down, shuts down, or resists expectations may not be misbehaving. Their nervous system may simply be overwhelmed.

Rebecca Greene welcomes Dr. Niki Elliott, clinical professor and director of the Center for Embodied Equity and Neurodiversity at the University of San Diego, for a powerful conversation about helping neurodiverse and marginalized children thrive.

They discuss sensory differences within families, why children may mask all day and unravel at home, and how parents can become an anchored presence rather than escalating alongside their children. Dr. Elliott also explains why children need agency, dignity, and adults who recognize the needs behind their behavior.

    You Will Learn

✓ Why neurodiverse children may melt down after masking all day.

✓ How sensory differences can create conflict between parents and children.

✓ Why parents must understand their own triggers and nervous systems.

✓ How an anchored adult helps a child feel safe and regulate.

✓ Why families need an informed and supportive community.
