The Whigham School Podcast explores how education must evolve to prepare leaders for the future.

Through conversations with founder Steve Whigham, Dr. Jeremy Patterson, educators, global thinkers, and changemakers, the podcast examines how learning can move beyond traditional classrooms to cultivate global awareness, cultural intelligence, moral courage, and a commitment to meaningful impact.

The Whigham School is a graduate-level Global Studies program redefining education through immersive, real-world experiences across six continents and more than 40 countries. Rather than focusing solely on information, it is designed to form leaders who understand the world deeply and are equipped to engage it with wisdom and purpose.

Inspired by the mission of The Whigham School and the leadership philosophy behind Steve Whigham’s book, The Leader’s Guide to Tomorrow, this podcast invites future students, educators, parents, executives, and purpose-driven leaders to consider a deeper question:

What if education was designed not just to inform, but to transform?

The Whigham School Podcast is for those who believe the future of education must shape leaders marked by wisdom, humility, courage, cultural understanding, and a commitment to doing substantial good in the world.

    2026/08/06

What does it take to become the kind of leader the world can actually trust?

In this episode of The Whigham School Podcast, founder Steve Whigham and Dr. Jeremy Patterson discuss the three core competencies that define a Whigham School graduate: Global Understanding, Global Leadership, and Global Improvement.

This conversation goes behind the scenes of The Whigham School’s graduate-level Global Studies program and explains why students study across six continents and more than 40 countries, develop language skills, engage with cultures directly, and learn to turn knowledge into meaningful action.

This is not a program for those looking for an ordinary credential.

It is for the few willing to answer the call to lead with awareness, empowerment, and benevolence.

  • Do Substantial Good
    2026/07/30

What does it really mean to do substantial good in the world?

In this episode of the Whigham School Podcast, Steve Whigham, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Whigham School, joins Dr. Jeremy Patterson, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Senior Interculturalist, for a thoughtful conversation on the mission driving The Whigham School: preparing global leaders to do substantial good in the world.

Together, Steve and Jeremy unpack the difference between simply “doing good” and creating substantial, sustainable, net-positive impact for the people and communities being served. They explore why leadership must move beyond self-interest, status, and personal achievement — and instead be rooted in generosity, humility, moral clarity, cultural understanding, and a sincere desire to leave people, communities, and systems better than we found them.

The conversation also reflects on the role of higher education in shaping future leaders. Rather than preparing students only for personal success, The Whigham School seeks to initiate leaders who seek to understand and engage in the real world and who intend to use their skills, influence, and opportunities to benefit others.

This episode is a foundational conversation for anyone interested in global leadership, ethical decision-making, intercultural education, service-driven leadership, and the future of higher education.
